Genesis of this initiative has roots in Jared Diamond's excellent essay: Why Did Human History Unfold Differently On Different Continents For The Last 13,000 Years?, where he concludes that:

• Technology not only has to be adopted; it also has to be maintained.

Epesi ENS is an open-source initiative based on the concept of the Digital Nervous System.

• Epesi ENS is a complete hardware and software stack, including a free and open-source CRM system, that aims to provide a foundation for building an Enterprise Nervous System.
• It is based on the ubiquitous LAMP stack and runs on a wide range of hardware from Raspberry Pis to powerful servers, supporting on-premise, cloud, and hybrid deployments.
• Epesi CRM, the core component of Epesi ENS, is released under the MIT license and available on GitHub and SourceForge.
